CST is a fully clothed modality that seeks to release restrictions using light-touch 'holds' in the CS system i.e. bones of the cranium, spine, and sacral bone. By releasing restrictions here, the fluid the nervous tissue is bathed in, moves unimpeded and allows for deep systemic relaxation ultimately creating an unwinding of fascial tissue. Holds are also used around areas of high tension to allow for the tissue to unwind. It is a great modality for anyone but in particular for a system that is under a lot of stress for any reason, cannot tolerate more aggressive forms of work, such as post accidents/surgeries, issues with mood or sleep, or for anyone looking to deeply relax and restore.
